Aditya Academy hosted its Annual Sports Meet 2026 on January 22, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and healthy competition while emphasising the importance of sportsmanship, discipline, and holistic student development.
The event was graced by legendary former Mohun Bagan striker José Ramirez Barreto as the Guest of Honour. During the programme, Barreto interacted with the students and encouraged them to view sports as a foundation for character building, highlighting that discipline, teamwork, and resilience developed on the field play a vital role in shaping confident and successful individuals. Currently associated with Indian football as the coach of the Howrah Hooghly Warriors in the Bengal Super League, his presence served as a major source of motivation for the young participants.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Sourav Ghosh, Sub-Inspector of Police, Barasat, expressed his happiness at being part of the event and appreciated the efforts of Aditya Academy, its teachers, and parents for consistently encouraging students to participate in sports alongside academics. During his address, he emphasised that such encouragement helps instil discipline, confidence, and a balanced outlook in students, preparing them to face future challenges with determination.

The programme was further enriched by the presence of Khushi Lakra, Asian Chessboxing Champion 2025 and one of Asia’s Youngest Sports Achievers 2025, whose achievements inspired students to pursue excellence with dedication and perseverance.
Senior members of the school management, including Ms. Sabita Saha, Director of Aditya School, and Ms. Kasturi Kejriwal, Chief Operating Officer of Aditya Academy School, reiterated the institution’s commitment to nurturing academic excellence alongside physical fitness, leadership skills, and strong moral values.
The sports meet featured a variety of track and field events, team games, and recreational activities, showcasing students’ athletic abilities, teamwork, and competitive spirit. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognising outstanding performances and applauding the participation of all students.
