Event highlight: Jupiter Defence Private Limited has been allotted approximately 256 acres at Jangal Sundari Karmanagari Phase II Industrial Park, Raghunathpur, Purulia, to set up a large-scale, state-of-the-art integrated defence manufacturing facility.
National/Kolkata, 23rd September 2026: The Department of Industry, Commerce and Enterprises, Government of West Bengal, today hosted the ‘Allotment of Land for Industry’ programme at Milan Mela Prangan, Kolkata. The event was graced by Shri Suvendu Adhikari Ji, Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, as Chief Guest, along with Guests of Honour Shri Tapas Roy ji, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, and Smt. Moumita Biswas Misra ji, Hon’ble Minister of State, Department of Industry, Commerce and Enterprises, Government of West Bengal. A key highlight of the programme was the allotment of approximately 256 acres of land to Jupiter Defence Private Limited at Jangal Sundari Karmanagari Phase II Industrial Park, Raghunathpur, Purulia, for a large-scale, state-of-the-art integrated defence manufacturing facility, which is poised to become West Bengal’s first major defence manufacturing unit. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Murari Lal Lohia, Chairman Emeritus, Jupiter Wagons Limited, expressed his gratitude to the Government of West Bengal for its support and commended the state’s renewed focus on industrial development.
