“Connect with Jharkhand – Where Every Turn Tells a Story” –

Kolkata, 13 April 2025 — The Jharkhand Tourism Department with FICCI as an Industry partner organized a two-day Tourism Roadshow in Kolkata, with the participation of Hon’ble Minister Shri Sudivya Kumar. This roadshow not only served as a platform for investors and industry stakeholders but also stood as a living testament to the historical, cultural, and emotional ties between Jharkhand and Bengal.
In his powerful and heartfelt address, Hon’ble Tourism Minister Shri Sudivya Kumar shared the reason behind choosing Kolkata as the starting point of the roadshow. He stated:
“Jharkhand and Bengal are not just neighbors; we are two pages of a shared heritage. From the travels of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to the era of British Bengal Presidency, our traditions, flavors, and values are deeply intertwined.”
“When a tourist from Bengal visits a village in Jharkhand, locals fondly call them ‘Changer’. It’s not just a word—it reflects our deep cultural closeness.”
Emphasizing further, the Hon’ble Minister stated that out of every 100 tourists visiting Jharkhand, nearly 60 come from West Bengal.
“That is why we chose to begin this new journey of tourism from Kolkata.”
He added, “It is our tradition as a nation that no matter how difficult the beginning, we always reach success in the end.”
This roadshow by the Government of Jharkhand was not just a presentation—it was an invitation:
“Come to Jharkhand, where waterfalls don’t just carry water, but flow with music…
Where mountains aren’t just heights, but keepers of ancient stories…
And where every journey becomes an unforgettable experience.”
On this occasion, the Hon’ble Minister, along with officials from the Jharkhand Tourism Department, held high-level B2G (Business-to-Government) meetings with several prestigious groups — Ambuja Neotia, Polo Towers, Shriram Ozone, Peerless Hotels, Hotel Sonar Bangla, Conveyor & Ropeway Services, and Sumi Yashshree Hotels & Resorts. These meetings led to meaningful dialogues on tourism investment, infrastructure development, and partnership opportunities in Jharkhand.
“The government is aware, committed, and eager to welcome you. Our state could be your next destination,” he said, concluding that under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, tourism development is a top priority, and the government is determined to take Jharkhand’s tourism to new heights.
Tourism Secretary Shri Manoj Kumar also delivered a detailed presentation, highlighting investment opportunities in Jharkhand’s tourism sector and the incentives being provided by the state government.
