Holi festival celebrated in London with songs like Rangiye Diye Jao and Desh Rangeela under the supervision of Dona Ganguly
Eminent Odissi dancer Dona Ganguly celebrated Holi and Vasant Utsav in London .This festival was celebrated at the Nehru Centre of the High Commission of India in London under her supervision. Earlier, during her stay in Kolkata, the Vasant Utsav of Dona Ganguly’s dance school Diksha Manjari was celebrated at the Indian Museum. Students who learn dance online abroad and those who want to learn dance also participated in this program.
Along with Indian classical music, dance waa performed to several popular Hindi Holi songs and Rabindra Sangeet. Vasant Pallavi, Dhol Baje, Eki Labanye Purna Pran, Rangiye Diye Jao, Desh Rangeela, Ore Grihobashi, all these songs captivated everyone on stage. Kolkata, I take classes online. Besides, there are many alumni, who may live here, who were also able to come to today’s event. This festival does not involve any difficult dances. Everyone participates happily. I feel very happy that I was able to organize this event at the initiative of the Nehru Center in London.”
