Kolkata, 18th September 2025 — The festive spirit of Durga Puja received a vibrant new rhythm as #Pujo, Kolkata’s first-ever Gen Z Durga Puja anthem, was officially released in a star-studded launch event last evening. The grand celebration, attended by the entire cast and crew, transformed into a spectacular night of music, glamour, and festive fervor.
Popular Bengali actor and singer Neel Bhattacharya, who has won hearts with his performances in Krishnakoli and Thik Jeno Love Story, not only headlines the video but also lends his own voice to the track. His powerful and fresh rendition perfectly captures the energy of today’s youth as they prepare for Pujo.
The anthem has been composed by veteran music director Groove Bhai (Kunal Sinha), who skillfully blended international pop beats with the soulful rhythms of Bengal’s biggest festival. At the event, he shared:
“#Pujo is not just a song—it’s a youth anthem where the grandeur of Durga Puja meets a global sound. It proves that today’s generation can celebrate Maa with beats that are fresh, modern, and yet deeply rooted in tradition.”
Lyrics by Soham Majumdar bring together wit, emotion, and a youthful spirit, making the anthem relatable for Gen Z while staying true to the timeless essence of Puja.
The visually stunning music video, directed by Arunim Das Purkayastha, was premiered at the launch to resounding applause. Set against the backdrop of a prestigious Puja night, the video brings together dancers, hip hop artists, families, and children — reflecting the inclusivity and unity of the festival. The lavish set design, created by top designers from Bombay, recreated pandal-inspired grandeur, making the video a feast for the eyes.
