Kolkata: The second edition of the beauty and fashion competition “Glam Icon India” was held in Bidhannagar in the presence of several well-known personalities from the cultural and fashion fraternity. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from aspiring models and fashion enthusiasts.
In the first segment of the event, the judging panel included renowned photographer and Joint Commissioner of the West Bengal Government’s Excise Department, Anupam Halder.
Speaking to the media, Rita Maiti, Founder of Glam Icon India, said, “The competition has been organised for the second time keeping in mind aspiring models, fashion designers and those who dream of establishing themselves in the fashion industry. A total of 105 contestants participated in this edition. Selected participants will also be given the opportunity to take part in professional photo shoots.”
Mousumi Nayek, Show Director of the competition, said, “The second edition of Glam Icon India featured different categories including Kids, Teen, Mr, Miss, Mrs and Classic. Contestants from various categories participated with great enthusiasm and confidence.”
One of the highlights of the event was the presence of showstopper Jyotsna Sarkar, who said, “I am extremely happy to be a part of this show as a showstopper. It was a wonderful experience and the atmosphere was truly amazing.”
The outfits presented by fashion designers Sujata Dutta and Rabidyuti Sarkar also attracted considerable attention and added a special charm to the fashion presentation.
Tanisha Chatterjee was crowned Miss India, while Anurag Paria was declared the Mr.Winner of Glam Icon India.
The event was further illuminated by the presence of journalist Debashis Das, popular photographer Anupam Halder, Arijit Dutta, Shantanu Guha Thakurta, along with Mumbai-based personalities Pooja Goswami and Raj Chandra, among others.
The distinguished guests presented awards to the winners at the end of the programme.
According to the organisers, the primary objective of Glam Icon India is to provide a platform for emerging talent and offer aspiring models and fashion enthusiasts an opportunity to showcase their confidence, creativity and potential in the field.
